For Amazon sellers
Amazon product image requirements (2026)
Amazon's image policy is the strictest of any major marketplace. The main image (MAIN) must have a pure white background (RGB 255,255,255), and the product must fill at least 85% of the frame. Get this wrong and your listing gets suppressed. Secondary images (PT01–PT08) are far more permissive — lifestyle, infographic, and context shots are encouraged. Here's the full 2026 spec sheet.
Amazon image requirements (2026)
| Main image background | Pure white — RGB (255, 255, 255). Non-white backgrounds trigger automated suppression |
| Product frame fill | Minimum 85% of the image dimensions |
| Minimum dimensions | 1000 px on the longest side (required for zoom feature) |
| Recommended dimensions | 2000 × 2000 px or larger for best zoom quality |
| Maximum file size | 10 MB per image |
| Accepted formats | JPEG (.jpg) preferred, PNG, GIF, TIFF; WebP not yet accepted on Seller Central uploads (2026) |
| Color profile | sRGB (Amazon's display pipeline assumes sRGB) |
| Image count | Up to 9 images per listing (1 main + 8 secondary) |
| Disallowed in MAIN | Watermarks, text overlays, props, accessories not included in the product, color borders, model when only the product is sold |
Best practices that move conversion
- →MAIN image: white background + 85% frame fill. Run a sanity check by saving the image and verifying the corners are exactly RGB 255
- →Secondary images: tell the story. Lifestyle, scale comparison, infographic with dimensions, packaging shot, A+ content teaser
- →Upload at 2000 px even though 1000 is the minimum — zoom-on-hover only activates when the image is large enough
- →Convert to JPEG before uploading. Amazon's WebP support is inconsistent across Seller Central UI surfaces as of 2026
- →Test on mobile — most Amazon buyers shop mobile, where the main image's framing matters even more
How Palmou AI lines up with Amazon's specs
Generate listing-ready images in seconds. Here's how each part of the output maps to Amazon's requirements.
Pure white background
The White Studio scenario outputs RGB-255 white. Verified compliant for Amazon's automated image policy checks.
85% frame fill
Scene-gen output centers and frames the product appropriately for the chosen scenario. White Studio specifically optimizes for marketplace frame fill.
Minimum 1000 px
Scene-gen output is ~1024 px on the longest side — meets Amazon's minimum. For 2000+ px, use the cutout-only flow which preserves source resolution and then composite on white.
JPEG conversion
Export the Palmou WebP and convert to JPEG via your usual tool (Squoosh, ImageMagick) before Amazon upload — straight WebP isn't reliably accepted on Seller Central yet.
FAQ — Amazon images
Does Palmou AI output meet Amazon's main image requirements?▾
Yes — the White Studio scenario produces a pure white (RGB 255) background. Make sure your product fills at least 85% of the frame in the source photo, since scene generation preserves the product's relative size.
Why can't I use the WebP output directly on Amazon?▾
Amazon Seller Central's image upload pipeline doesn't consistently accept WebP as of 2026. Export to JPEG with a tool like Squoosh (squoosh.app, free, browser-based) before uploading. The conversion is lossless if you use quality 95+.
Can I generate lifestyle / A+ content images with Palmou AI?▾
Yes — all six non-White scenarios (Marble, Beige, Urban, Nature, Gradient) work for Amazon secondary images and A+ content modules, which allow backgrounds and props.
